This $245 million Design/Build project included the iconic Christopher S. Bond Bridge over the Missouri River and reconstruction of interchanges to I-29/35 in Kansas City, Missouri. The main pylon was supported on 10.5 ft diameter drilled shafts, while the approaches were founded on 6.5 post grouted shafts, and 120 feet in length.

AFT was responsible for Post Grouting, and Mini-SID inspection on 25 drilled shafts using advanced technology to give the client a competitive advantage. AFT also performed design and fabrication of grouting systems, post grouting criteria recommendations, strain instrumentation fabrication, and installation in the first two production drilled shafts.
